Q: WHY IS JEPPESEN MOBILE FLITEDECK DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT BEING DISCONTINUED?

A: ForeFlight Mobile, Boeing’s flagship app for general/business aviation, is the optimal way to view Jeppesen’s worldwide chart coverages. ForeFlight also provides industry-leading mobile flight planning and inflight capabilities, from spot-on time and fuel calculations to immersive 3D airport and route previews, with monthly feature releases that continually enhance its value and utility. Our development resources are focused on continuing to add functionality and Jeppesen integration to ForeFlight apps and web-based solutions.

Q: WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO USE JEPPESEN MOBILE FLITEDECK iOS AFTER FURTHER DEVELOPMENT IS DISCONTINUED?

A:Yes, although development and application bug fixes will be discontinued, data updates will continue and the application will continue to function in its current form. However, if future iOS changes impact functionality of Mobile FliteDeck, those problems will not be fixed.

Q: CAN I STILL MANAGE SITE KEYS AFTER JEPPESEN MOBILE FLITEDECK iOS IS DISCONTINUED?

A: If you have a Jeppesen Digital Chart Subscription you can still manage Site Keys via our General Aviation & Business Aviation Site Key management websites after Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck is discontinued.

Q: I HAVE AN EXISTING JEPPESEN DIGITAL CHART SUBSCRIPTION UNDER MY AVIONICS SERVICES, CAN I SIMPLY ACTIVATE JEPPESEN CHARTS IN FOREFLIGHT?

A: You must have a ForeFlight subscription in order to link Jeppesen Charts to view them in ForeFlight Mobile. ForeFlight is offering a free 30-day trial with Jeppesen Charts included so you can see how it works before purchasing a ForeFlight subscription.

Q: I’M PART OF A BUSINESS AVIATION FLIGHT DEPARTMENT USING MOBILE FLITEDECK—WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

A: Please fill out the contact form for business aviation operators and be sure to provide us with contact information for your EFB administrator. We can then work directly with your EFB administrator as needed to set up trial accounts and ensure a seamless transition for your flight department. Additionally, please let your EFB administrator know directly that he/she needs to get in touch with ForeFlight's Sales team to set up a trial account.

Q: HOW DO I TRANSITION FROM MOBILE FLITEDECK APP TO FOREFLIGHT MOBILE?

A: If you’re part of a flight department, fill out the form here with some basic information about yourself and your operation, and be sure to include information about your EFB administrator if it isn’t you so our team can reach out to them and set up a demo and free trial for your flight department.

Q: IF I SIGN UP FOR FOREFLIGHT MOBILE’S FREE 30-DAY TRIAL WILL THAT DISRUPT MY JEPPESEN MOBILE FLITEDECK iOS SERVICES?

A: No, with the free 30-day trial your ForeFlight subscription will include Jeppesen Charts separately and will not require you to link your existing Jeppesen Digital Chart Subscription.

Q: I DON’T NEED ALL OF THE FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY PROVIDED BY FOREFLIGHT MOBILE, WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

A: You can still access your Jeppesen Charts subscription’s monthly and bi-weekly updates through Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck although support and further development is being ended. NOTE: iPadOS 14.6 is the last iOS tested with Mobile FliteDeck. Other applications such as Garmin Pilot, Avidyne IFD 100 App, and Honeywell GoDirect Flight Bag Pro also allow Jeppesen Chart integration.

Q: WILL SUPPORT FOR NEW APPLE iOS RELEASES CONTINUE?

A: No, as Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck iOS is discontinued no further application enhancements, bug fixes, or support for new iOS releases will occur.

Q: IS IT POSSIBLE JEPPESEN MOBILE FLITEDECK WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION IN THE FUTURE?

A: Yes, as development support ends if a user updates their device to a new Apple iOS release that was not supported at product sunset there is a possibility Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck will no longer function properly.

Q: I HAVE A SINGLE PILOT SUBSCRIPTION WITH JEPPESEN AND A FOREFLIGHT MOBILE SUBSCRIPTION. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

A: You have a couple of options in this scenario:

1. Keep your current Jeppesen subscription. You can link your Jeppesen account inside the ForeFlight Mobile app using your Jeppesen credentials. Please note that this option uses one Jeppesen license (seat) per device. If you don't have any Jeppesen licenses available, see this FAQ for instructions on uninstalling a license from other devices or applications.

2.Contact Jeppesen to cancel your Jeppesen subscription and repurchase through the ForeFlight website. With this option you will have the ForeFlight individual license model that allows you to use Jeppesen charts on all of your allotted devices (one iPad, plus one backup iPad, and one iPhone).



Q: I AM A FOREFLIGHT SUBSCRIBER, BUT I DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A SINGLE PILOT SUBSCRIPTION WITH JEPPESEN.

A: You can purchase the Jeppesen charts on the ForeFlight website. We recommend that you purchase using the same email address your ForeFlight account is currently listed under. Please note this will restart your ForeFlight subscription for a year, applying any unused credit towards the purchase.

Q: I HAVE A SINGLE PILOT JEPPESEN CHART SUBSCRIPTION FOR MY PANEL-MOUNTED AVIONICS. DOES THIS SUBSCRIPTION ALLOW ME TO ALSO VIEW JEPPESEN CHARTS ON FOREFLIGHT MOBILE?

A: The chart subscription you purchase from Jeppesen for your panel-mount avionics includes access to activate Jeppesen charts on up to 4 devices. You will sign in using your Jeppesen credentials in ForeFlight Mobile to activate Jeppesen charts on your two iPads and/or one iPhone.

Q: WHAT ARE THE DETAILS OF THE NEW ALLIANCE BETWEEN JEPPESEN AND FOREFLIGHT?

A: Through a contractual relationship, Jeppesen and ForeFlight are teaming up to provide pilots and flight departments with quality, reliable, high-performance tools that address the challenges they face in rapidly changing operational environments. Jeppesen charts are available now on ForeFlight Mobile and a joint product for airlines and other large-scale users was released in Q1 2018.

General and Business Aviation customers have access to global Jeppesen NavData®, terrain, and obstacle data, and also have the option to add Jeppesen’s industry-leading library of terminal, enroute, SID and STAR charts on the ForeFlight Mobile app. Early in 2018, a next-generation FliteDeck Pro offering was built upon the functionality of FliteDeck Pro version 3.0/9.0. This alliance will advance the development and delivery of innovative products and services faster than either organization could deliver on its own. Today we offer FliteDeck Pro X versions 4.x/10.x for airlines and other large-scale users.

Q: WHAT FOREFLIGHT MOBILE FEATURES AND CAPABILITIES ARE ENHANCED BY THE FOREFLIGHT-JEPPESEN PARTNERSHIP?

A: The partnership offers pilots a one-stop-shop for all of their flight planning, weather, and charting needs. Jeppesen's FMS-grade navigation data is integrated into ForeFlight's innovative data-driven Aeronautical Maps, Procedure Advisor, and other parts of the app that display airspace, airway, navaid, airport, and, waypoint information. In addition, ForeFlight's hazard awareness technology uses Jeppesen's high-resolution worldwide terrain and obstacle database. Synthetic Vision, Hazard Advisor, and Terrain Profile view are available anywhere in the world.

Q: I HAVE A SINGLE PILOT SUBSCRIPTION WITH JEPPESEN, BUT DO NOT HAVE A FOREFLIGHT SUBSCRIPTION.

A: You can contact Jeppesen to cancel your current subscription. You can then purchase ForeFlight and your selected Jeppesen chart coverages in one transaction via the ForeFlight website. Q: CAN I VIEW JEPPESEN CHARTS ON FOREFLIGHT MOBILE?

A: Yes, ForeFlight pilots have access to Jeppesen's comprehensive global chart library of terminal, arrival, and departure procedures, as well as data-driven enroute charts* inside ForeFlight Mobile. You can link your active Jeppesen subscription or purchase desired Jeppesen chart coverages directly from ForeFlight. We have outlined some common purchasing scenarios below. A: No, you will only incur additional costs when you elect to purchase Jeppesen chart coverage.

Q: DO I HAVE TO UPGRADE MY FOREFLIGHT SUBSCRIPTION TO ADD JEPPESEN CHARTS?

A: No, Jeppesen charts are available as an option for all ForeFlight individual and business plans.

Q: DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR JEPPESEN NAVDATA® IN FOREFLIGHT MOBILE?

A: No, all customers benefit from having Jeppesen NavData®, terrain, and obstacles in ForeFlight Mobile without any additional cost.

Q: WILL I LOSE ACCESS TO THE FAA OR NAV CANADA CHARTS IF I ACTIVATE JEPPESEN CHARTS IN FOREFLIGHT MOBILE?

A: No, Jeppesen enroute charts, terminal charts, and airport diagrams are another option in addition to FAA and NAV CANADA charts inside ForeFlight Mobile.

Q: IS THERE A PLAN TO ADD FOREFLIGHT MOBILE TO ANDROID OR WINDOWS?

A: Currently, there are no plans for an Android or Windows version of ForeFlight.

Q: WILL I BE ABLE TO USE FOREFLIGHT MOBILE TO WIRELESSLY UPDATE THE JEPPESEN DATABASE FOR MY GARMIN AVIONICS USING GARMIN CONCIERGE/FLIGHTSTREAM 510?

A: No, the Garmin Concierge wireless database update feature is not supported in ForeFlight Mobile.

Q: I CURRENTLY SUBSCRIBE TO MOBILE FLITEDECK ALL EUROPE (service code: JVAEU143) FOR A SINGLE PILOT, WILL JEPPESEN CONTINUE TO OFFER THIS TYPE OF SUBSCRIPTION A SINGLE DEVICE?

A: Yes, Jeppesen will continue to offer a Single Pilot Digital Chart Subscription for the ALL EUROPE coverage which can be used to access Jeppesen Charts via integration with Garmin Pilot, Avidyne IFD 100 App, and Honeywell GoDirect Flight Bag Pro.
NOTE: iPadOS 14.6 is the last iOS tested with Mobile FliteDeck.
