How to access your legacy E-book by device type (for E-books purchased before Aug. 1st 2023)

(NOTE: If the redemption link (URL) for your E-book does not work or it attempts to open the link and then quickly closes it, simply copy and paste the URL into your web browser. Similarly, if the downloaded .ASCM file does not auto-run, you can manually browse to the location (Windows) of the file, right-click on it and choose Open via ADE or Bluefire. In iOS, click on the downloads arrow in the upper right corner of Safari.)

Below are the directions to follow to load the E-book onto an Android device:

  1. Create an Adobe user ID account through www.adobe.com. (All Jeppesen eBooks are protected with Adobe DRM. If you open an ACS DRM protected file without an Adobe ID, the file will be restricted to that single device regardless of the DRM settings.)
  2. Install "Adobe Digital Editions" or another Adobe DRM-compatible E-book reader application (e.g. Bluefire Reader, PocketBook Reader) onto your Android device.
  3. Log into the eBook reader application with your Adobe ID. For Adobe Digital Editions, go to Settings > Authorize and log in with your Adobe ID.
  4. Tap on the E-book Download URL link in the Jeppesen order confirmation email to download the URLLink.ascm file.
  5. Go to the Download Manager on your Android device and click on the URLLink.acsm file to open it in Adobe Digital Editions or your Adobe DRM-compatible eBook reader application. Adobe Digital Editions will display “Please wait while fulfillment and download is in progress”. After complete your eBook will show up in your Library.

Below are the directions to load the E-book onto an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, etc.):

* If you prefer to view the E-book in the Apple Books app, the E-book must be purchased directly from the Apple Book Store, as adding books and PDFs to the Books app from outside the Book Store requires they be DRM-free.

Below are the directions to follow to load the E-book onto a Mac or PC.

  1. Create an Adobe user ID account through www.adobe.com. It is not required, but it is recommended. All Jeppesen E-books are protected with Adobe DRM. If you open an ACS DRM protected file without an Adobe ID, the file will be restricted to that single device regardless of the DRM settings.
  2. Download an Adobe Digital Editions E-book reader on the Mac or PC you wish to view your eBook. Adobe Digital Editions is currently the best way to view ACS DRM protected content on both Macs and PCs.* Click here to access the application installer.
  3. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  4. Click on the E-book Download URL link in the Jeppesen order confirmation email to download the URLLink.ascm file.**
  5. Drag and Drop the URLLink.ascm file from the downloads folder into the Adobe Digital Editions program.

* If you prefer to view the E-book in the Apple Books app, the E-book must be purchased directly from the Apple Book Store, as adding books and PDFs to the Books app from outside the Book Store requires they be DRM-free.

** You will need to be connected to the Internet to initially download an eBook and to authorize the file to a new device allowing the Adobe Content Server to validate the file authorization. This only takes a moment. Afterward no further Internet connection is needed and ACS DRM parameters like file expiration or copy limits will continue to function as expected.
