ERROR:
The GPS avionics unit shows one of the following messages, or a related error message, after updating the NavData database:
- FPL waypoint is locked
- FLT PLAN WPT LOCKED
- Locked Waypoint
CAUSE:
The removal of one or more waypoints from the NavData database on the datacard has likely caused this error, and the waypoint that was part of the flight plan (route) is no longer part of the updated NavData database.
RESOLUTION:
Review the flightplans in the GPS. One or more flight plans (routes) may includea waypoint named "Lockd". This waypoint is no longer in the current NavData database. Either edit the flight plan waypoint to the new name (as it appears in the new database/data-cycle), or delete and re-create the flight plan (route).
Always ensure that the NavData card is correctly inserted in the GPS and that it passes the integrity check when the GPS starts up.
