Customers will often ask "How do I obtain an FAA Special or Private Instrument Procedure Chart from Jeppesen?". Operators will need to start this process by seeking operational approval from the FAA Flight Standards group. If granted authorization to use a Special and/or Private Instrument Procedure, the operator will be issued a signed FAA form 8260-7B. A copy of this form will need to be sent directly to the Customer Sales and Service teams at Jeppesen. Our Sales and Service teams will provide cost information and offer options for the distribution of the Special/Private IAP chart(s).
NOTE: Subsequent updates to the Special and/or Private Instrument Approach procedure will be initiated by the FAA and published on a new FAA form 8260-7. The form will be distributed by the FAA to authorized operators. It is the operators responsibility to send Jeppesen the amended FAA form 8260-7 and request an updated copy of the Jeppesen Instrument Approach procedure chart. It is important to understand that Jeppesen does not automatically receive the FAA form 8260-7 from the FAA, as we do for the Standard Instrument Procedures. Jeppesen relies on the operator(s) to submit the FAA form 8260-7, which we then use to author/revise our Special and/or Private Instrument Procedure charts.
