Before downloading and transferring the charts database update for your Avidyne EX5000, EX600, or EX500 using the Jeppesen Distribution Manager application, you must first obtain a CMax Key Code for your MFD system.

1. Log into the JDM application, then click the 'More ...' button next to 'Avidyne EX5000, EX600, EX500 - Electronic Charts':

If you are using JDM Mobile, tap the arrow under 'Avidyne EX5000, EX600, EX500 :: Electronic Charts':

2. Click 'Set Avidyne CMax Key Code...':

If you are using JDM Mobile, tap 'Edit' next to CMax Key Code:

3. Record the JeppView Serial Number that appears on the next window, then click the 'http://www.MyAvidyne.com' link to open the MyAvidyne.com page in a web browser:

4. Click the 'Click here to register a Cmax Code without logging in.' link at the bottom of the login area on the MyAvidyne.com page:

5. Enter your Avidyne MFD Serial Number and the JeppView Serial Number (Jeppesen Software S/N) that appears in the JDM application, then click Get Code. The Avidyne MFD Serial Number will be the eight-character serial number you can find on the "Aux" page on the MFD in the aircraft.

6. Enter the CMax Key Code into the JDM application, then click OK. The best way to ensure the code is entered correctly is to highlight it, then copy and paste it from the MyAvidyne.com site into the JDM application. Double-check that there are no leading or trailing spaces in the Avidyne CMax Key Code in the JDM application by highlighting it (click-hold and drag the cursor across the Avidyne CMax Key Code). If there are any leading or trailing spaces, they will also be highlighted.
