Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I log in to EFPAC?
EFPAC uses multi-factor authentication. First, install a Citrix receiver. We recommend installing the latest version, but installation may depend on your company policies. Please check with your IT. Then, generate a Citrix certificate (https://remote.eu.aerdata.com) .
2. Can I open multiple displays? How can I set a default display?
It is possible to open all displays of EFPAC simultaneously. It is also possible to select a single display or multiple displays as a default layout. This is done by opening the desired default display(s) and by clicking on the ‘Save layout as default’ button in the start panel.
3. Can a component be in multiple fleets?
Yes, but the underlying data is always the same - one set of data accessible from multiple fleets. If you edit the component configuration, lease information or C&L status, this will change for all fleets.
4. Is there a way to organize scenarios?
Scenarios can be grouped and organized in user definable folders. Note: there can only be one designated "Master" scenario for a fleet.
5. What is a C&L?
Controls and Limitations (C&Ls) are removal drivers for aircraft or components (for example ADs, SBs, MTBSV policy). These may affect the technical standard or operation of items managed in EFPAC. Through C&Ls, the program provides the capability for technical records control that can be used in scenarios for forecasting component removals.
6. Can I undo changes in a scenario?
Major changes (before/after using automatic functions) can be un-done. Individual minor changes are not recorded, unless the scenario is specifically saved. Minor changes can only be undone by returning to a previous saved state.
7. How do I find an ESN on the display?
An engine serial number can be found using the search box in the top frame of the EFPAC displays. An alternative way would be to find the engine via the [View] [Locate Component] menu.
8. What is the difference between actual and scenario data?
Actual data contains the latest data from the M&E system for the aircraft and components such as TSN, CSN, EGTM readings, Last shop visit. Scenario data contains the predictions based on different inputs such as predicted utilization and EGTM deterioration curves. The user creates "what ifs" scenarios to simulate different potential conditions in their fleet.
9. Why do we need to update scenarios?
Scenarios are snapshots based on actual data and predicted utilization. As the aircraft and engine utilization keeps increasing with everyday operation the scenario should be updated to reflect the latest status. If the predicted utilization is different to the actual flown hours and cycles the predicted removal
dates will change. By updating the scenario, the user will ensure the plan is up to date with the latest data.
10. What do the different flag colors mean?
Pink – Part Soft (advisory) life limit
Purple – Part Hard (mandatory) life limit
Light blue – Performance Parameter Soft limit
Light blue + Exclamation mark - Performance Parameter Hard limit
Beige – C&L Soft limit
Yellow – C&L Hard Limit
Green + Red frame – Lease End, some condition not met
Green + Exclamation mark – End of Lease conditions not met beyond this point
11. What is meant by an At Date in the future?
The “At Date” is the date to which the component data belongs to (component TSN/CSN, part TSN/CSN). When a component goes for a shop visit, it will be unavailable until a future date when it comes out of the shop. EFPAC will use the expected configuration on that date as a starting point for scenarios. In that case, the component’s “At Date” will be in the future. The goal is that you can plan scenarios with the expected component status at shop exit.
12. How do I account for different workshops?
Workshops are defined in the Workscope Cost template. Multiple shops can be defined in a template and at least one is mandatory. Once a workshop has been configured, it will be available in the Automatic shop visit templates, so the shop is selected whenever the template is used. Indicating a workshop will allow you to see it in the Shop Visit Display or in shop visit reports, among others.
