Typically the NavData is loaded onto the top card of the G1000 and not the bottom supplemental card. If NavData is loaded onto the supplemental data card the system will continuously prompt to update to that database each time you start up even if it is an old and expired database.
To resolve this, delete any ldr_sys folders you have on your bottom supplemental data cards.
