The Hi-Res Cultural and Terrain data can be downloaded from within the application by selecting Tools > Get Optional Data Update...

If a problem is encountered when downloading the Hi-Res data from within the application, follow these steps.

The Hi-Res Cultural Data zip file is ~3GB and after being extracted will use approx. 4GB of drive space.
The Hi-Res Terrain Data zip file is ~2GB and after being extracted will use approx. 2.2GB of drive space.

Thus, in order to download and extract both sets of data, approx. 12GB of free space is required.

To download the hi-res terrain data:

  1. Close JeppView or eLink for Windows.
  2. Download the terrain data .zip using the following link:
  1. Copy the .zip file to C:\ProgramData\Jeppesen\Downloads\cldupdate

NOTE: The ProgramData folder may be hidden, in which case you can type C:\ProgramData in the location/address bar at the top of File Explorer and press the Enter key to open it, or click View > 'Hidden items' in Windows 10, or View > Show > 'Hidden items' in Windows 11.

  1. Open JeppView or eLink for Windows.
  2. Select Tools > Get Optional Data Update.
  3. Select Hi-Res Terrain Data, then click Start.

To download the hi-res cultural data:

  1. Close JeppView or eLink for Windows.
  2. Download the cultural data .zip file using the following link:
  1. Copy the .zip file to C:\ProgramData\Jeppesen\Downloads\cldupdate

  1. Open JeppView or eLink for Windows.

  3. Select Hi-Res Cultural Data, then click Start.
