PROBLEM:
When transferring a charts update in Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM), the transferring process fails and the following error appears:
"Error transfer ... Failed to copy fonts"
CAUSE:
- The card reader attached to the computer is not detected correctly or is not working properly.
- The SD card is write-protected or is faulty.
- There is a problem with the installation of Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM)
- Another application or process is accessing the Jeppesen font files on the SD card.
RESOLUTION:
- First, try restarting the computer.
- Unplug the card reader, plug it into another USB port, and try the transfer again.
- If the MFD uses an SD card, check the write-protect switch on the card. Most SD cards have a write protect switch on the left top corner, which must be in the top position in order to be writable. Try moving the switch back and forth, leave it in the top position, and attempt to transfer the charts update again.
- Use a different card reader. The mechanism on the card reader that detects the position of the write protect switch on the card may be malfunctioning.
- Try using another SD card.
- Uninstall JDM, reboot the computer, and reinstall the latest version of JDM.
