"Database Fail" message on an Aspen Avionics flight display

PROBLEM:
The following error is encountered on an Aspen Avionics flight display after inserting the microSD card and turning it on:

Database Fail

In addition, no terrain or basemap is available.

CAUSE:
The microSD card doesn't contain either a NavData database or Terrain database. Without a NavData database on the card, the Aspen will report 'Database Fail' and will not display terrain data or the basemap. Without a Terrain database on the card, the Aspen will report 'Database Fail' and will not display terrain data, basemap, or NavData.

If a new Aspen microSD card is purchased from Jeppesen, it will contain the Terrain database, but it will not contain the current NavData database. Make sure to download and transfer the current NavData database to the microSD card prior to using it in the Aspen Avionics flight display.

RESOLUTION:
Download and transfer the current NavData and Terrain databases to the microSD card.
