PROBLEM:
The following error occurs when installing Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM) Windows:
"An error occurred during the installation of assembly Microsoft.VC90.CRT. version= 9.0.30729.6161"
CAUSE:
Corruption in Windows installer or .Net framework.
RESOLUTION:
- To ensure that runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ are on the computer, install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) or Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) depending on whether your computer is x64 or x86.
- If the problem continues, check that the Windows Installer service is running on the computer and is set to manual startup mode.
- From the Windows Start Menu, type services.msc in the search box, then press Enter.
- In the Services (Local) list, right-click Windows Installer, then click Properties.
- If the Startup type drop-down list is set to a value of Disable, select the Manual option from the Startup type drop-down list, then click OK.
- Click the File menu, then click Exit.
- Restart the computer and install Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM).
- If the problem continues, reset the .NET Framework by following the steps below:
- Open Control Panel. Click the Start button, click Control Panel.
- Open Programs and Features.
- Select Turn Windows features on or off.
- Uncheck the box next to .NET Framework 3.5.
- Select OK and restart the computer.
- After the restart, return to the Turn Windows features on or off menu.
- Check the box next to .NET Framework 3.5.
- Select OK and restart the computer.
- Install Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM).
- If the problem continues, download and run the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool to troubleshoot and repair all installations of the .NET Framework.
