FliteDeck Pro displays the ownship symbol on the enroute map, Airport Moving Map and the planview of georeferenced, to-scale charts. Georeferenced charts can be identified by the presence of a scale and/or latitude/longitude tics along the border of the planview. Additionally, the message "The viewed chart cannot support ownship" is displayed in the GPS Status popover if the chart isn't georeferenced.

On iPadOS, Location Services must be enabled if using the iPad or a Bluetooth GPS to determine the location. Location Services does not need to be enabled when using an Aircraft Interface Device (AID) with FliteDeck Pro. The Display Ownship settings for FliteDeck Pro must be enabled in the iOS Settings. If the Display Ownship settings cannot be enabled, check with your company's EFB Administrator to see if your company is defining these settings with a FliteDeck Pro customer configuration file.

On Windows, when using the internal GPS, make sure FliteDeck Pro is set to ON under Settings - Privacy - Location - Choose which apps can access your precise location. When using an external GPS device, make sure FliteDeck Pro is visible to the external GPS device under Settings - Privacy - Other devices. Communicate with unpaired devices must be ON and FliteDeck Pro must be set to ON in Apps that can communicate with unpaired devices.

The GPS accuracy must meet the following minimum requirements. The GPS accuracy can be checked within FliteDeck Pro by tapping the GPS status button at the top.
