We're pleased to let you know about several enhancements we're making to our SID/STAR charts.

Why is Jeppesen making these enhancements?
We're enhancing our SID/STAR charts to:

  1. Make them easier for pilots to read
  2. Increase situational awareness
  3. Reduce the likelihood of inadvertently violating height and speed restrictions
  4. Improve usage on EFB screens

When will the new charts be available?
The first charts will appear with the December 16, 2016, bi–weekly Airway Manual issue date, with 40–45 airports in the first release. Charts from remaining airports will appear regularly on an airport by airport basis through 2018.

What action must I take to prepare my pilots?
We strongly recommend training your pilots on the new chart enhancements. Self-training material can be found here.

Is classroom training required?
No. A third party ORA (Operational Risk Assessment) confirmed formal classroom training is not needed for pilots to use the new enhancements. Individual self–training is sufficient.

Where can I find more information on the chart enhancements?
We've created an online resource.

How can I learn more or get help?
For further assistance, please contact your Jeppesen account manager.
